The Desecrators - Speed Up The Death Process LP (1986 / 2010)

Genre: Punk / Thrash

A fellow poster over at AllMetalForums introduced me to these guys today. Apparently The Desecrators formed back in 1984 out of the broken remains of Destructors, a band featuring Gizz Butt. Gizz Butt was also a guitarist in English Dogs at one point. This album here was apparently recorded as a demo back in 1986 on a shit 4-track recorder and has quite a history behind it. "Speed Up The Death Process" is an incredibly old school sounding album. Imagine a Punk Rock band in the middle of the NWOBHM, taking influences influences from both the Thrash and Traditional Metal scenes. What we hear throughout the albums is heavily Metal influenced Punk in the same vein of GBH, Discharge, Misfits, and English Dogs with tons of tasty riffing. The production is classic and sounds like it came straight out of the 80's Punk scene. Definitely an interesting release from an interesting band with quite a long history. Enjoy.
