Extinction Of Mankind / Phobia - Fearing The Dissolve Of Humanity [2010]

Just decided to check out Extinction Of Mankind (UK), I've known of them for a while but never got around to actually giving them a listen. As of right now I've heard their full length "The Nightmare Seconds" and this release, this one definitely coming out on top. Great straight up crust here. Nothing special, nothing very different, just good crust. Great release for fans of Instinct Of Survival and Guided Cradle. I can't really say much about Phobia since I'm not really into Grindcore, you be the judge on that. Production is good throughout the album.

Poison Idea - Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes (1984)

Genre: Hardcore Punk

Perhaps Poison Idea's heaviest and fastest release, RCAPA proves to be quite a fun listen. Not much to be said about this release, I'm running low on creative juices right now so all I can say is it's a great album and sits right next to Kings Of Punk as my favorite Poison Idea release. Fans of Black Flag, The Exploited, Misfits, Direct Control, Wasted Time, and GBH ought to check this out.

Poison Idea - Kings Of Punk (1986)

"Kings Of Punk", a well fitting title for Poison Idea's 1986 release. A worthy competitor for my favorite Poison Idea release. Songs like Lifestyles, Ugly American, Made To Be Broken, Out Of The Picture are perfect examples of what make this album so great. Great for fans of The Exploited, Unruled, A Global Threat, Bad Brains etc.

Anti Cimex - Scandinavian Jawbreaker (1993)

Genre: Crust / D-Beat

I've heard the name Anti Cimex passed around the internet here and there but I never bothered to check them out. Then, while poking around last.fm, I discovered that Tomas Jonsson (ex-Wolfpack) was the frontman of Anti Cimex. I immediately checked them out and I am beyond impressed. For those of you that listen to Wolfpack, you know damn well that Jonsson is one of the best crust vocalists of all time. This album has a very old school metal feel to it. Think complete Motorhead worship, with d-beat drumming and Jonsson's ear drum stomping vocals. The production is great, the drums in particular are very clear and the snare sounds amazing. I can't encourage you enough to check out this album. Very refreshing for those new to the band. For fans of Wolfpack, Inepsy, Motorhead, and Wolfbrigade.

Avskum - Folk Som Har Sånger Kan Inte Dö (2010)

Genre: Crust Punk / D-Beat

"Folk Som Har Sånger Kan Inte Dö", I don't know what that means, what I do know is that this is another great release from Avskum and it's definitely worth checking out. The same old Avskum here, top notch straight up D-Beat with a certain catchiness that sets them apart from the rest of the Swedish Crust bands. Definitely check it out if you're into Behind Enemy Lines, Victims, Wolfbrigade, Cop On Fire, and Pisschrist.

Avskum - Folk Som Har Sanger Kan Inte Do EP (2010)

Victims - Neverendinglasting (2001)

Genre: Crust / D-Beat / Hardcore

Victim's debut album Neverendinglasting could very well be their finest work. Assuming most of you who are reading this have already heard ...In Blood + Divide & Conquer, this albums sound seems to fit snuggly in between the two, despite being released before both. The production is near perfection, clear and audible but raw enough to retain the classic crust sound. The songs on this album tend to be shorter than Victim's other releases, not a single track breaks the two minute mark. Definitely a great album for all Wolfpack, World Burns To Death, and Nuclear Death Terror fans to check out.
